The short version
Nubbit has no accounts and no sign-up. Your progress is stored on your device. We collect gameplay statistics tied to a random player ID — never your name or email — to make the game better, and crash reports to fix bugs. Ads appear only when you ask for one, and personalised ads only with your consent. We never sell your personal data.
Who we are
Nubbit is made by , an independent developer based in Armenia (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for the personal data described here. For anything about this policy, write to .
What the game collects
| What | Why | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| Gameplay events, tied to a random player ID: levels started and completed, time spent, hints and undos used, stars, coins earned and spent, Daily puzzle times, items unlocked, purchases made | To see which puzzles are too hard or too easy and to balance the game | Mixpanel (analytics, United States) |
| Crash reports: device model, OS version, app version and what the game was doing when it crashed | To find and fix bugs | Sentry (crash reporting) |
| Advertising data, only when you choose to watch a rewarded video: device and ad identifiers, as your consent choices allow | To show the video you asked for and give you the reward | Google AdMob |
| Your player name and Daily puzzle times | To show leaderboards | Apple Game Center (iPhone) · Google Play Games (Android) |
| Purchases of coin packs | To deliver the coins you bought | Apple App Store · Google Play — we never see your payment details |
The player ID is a random code the game makes on your device. It isn’t linked to your name, email or phone number; you’ll find it in the game’s Settings. Your progress, coins, items and settings are saved on your device only — Nubbit has no cloud save at the moment, so deleting the app deletes them.
Why we may use it
- Analytics and crash reports — our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and making it better.
- Personalised ads — your consent, which you can refuse or withdraw; without it, ads are non-personalised.
- Leaderboards and purchases — to provide what you chose to use.
- The waitlist — your consent, given when you sign up; you can withdraw it at any time.
- Counting visits to this site — our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.
Ads and your consent
Nubbit only shows an ad when you tap a button that asks for one. Before any ad is requested, the game asks for your consent where the law requires it (Google’s consent form in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), and on iPhone it asks for permission to track through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can say no; ads will then be non-personalised. You can change your choices later in your device settings.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the game schedules them on your device — for example, that the Daily puzzle is ready. They are local notifications; no message is sent to us. You can switch them off in the game’s settings at any time.
This website
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, United States) and use it for one thing only: to tell you when Nubbit is released. We count visits to this site with Mixpanel (United States) without cookies or anything else stored on your device: which pages are viewed, where visits come from (the referring site and campaign tags), how far down the page they get and which buttons are pressed. Mixpanel uses your IP address only to estimate the country and city. The site uses no advertising cookies. It is hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google); its fonts come from Google Fonts and its scripts from public CDNs (jsDelivr, cdnjs). These services see your IP address when they serve the pages.
Children
Nubbit is made for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live (up to 16 in parts of the EU). If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to and we’ll delete it.
Where data is processed
Our service providers may process data in the United States and in other countries. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Gameplay analytics and visits to this site — up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Crash reports — up to 90 days.
- Waitlist addresses — until we announce the release, then deleted within 3 months; sooner if you ask.
- Support emails — as long as needed to help you, and no longer than 24 months.
Security
We use well-known providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and the smallest amount of data we need. No method of storing or sending data is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you (also in a portable form), ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave. Because Nubbit has no accounts, send us your player ID from the game’s Settings so we can find your data, and write to . We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
US state privacy rights
We don’t sell personal information for money. Personalised ads from Google AdMob may count as “sharing” under some US state laws, such as California’s; you can opt out by turning off personalised ads in your device settings (on iPhone, by not allowing tracking; on Android, by deleting your advertising ID). You can also make any of the requests above, and we won’t treat you differently for making them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page; important changes will also be announced in the game.
